Research Notes:
source: Alex & Robyn Leeflang who writes: My grandfather, William, married Catherine Rumsby. Her mother was Jacobina Flori from German parents. He was stricken with paralysis at the age of 2 - probably infantile paralysis - there would not have been any remedies in those days for paralysis of any kind, I shouldn't think. As a young man, he had his own valet to look after him and lived at the hotel. My grandparents married and moved into the house where they raised their children. I think Catherine was a maid at the hotel - not too sure about that. My grandfather died well before I was born and I barely remember my grandmother, except that she had lovely white wavy hair. My Aunt Marjorie Thame moved to Sydney eventually, bought a house at Willoughby, and brought her parents down to live with her. My parents, I think, lived for a time there, also my Uncle Gordon and Uncle Claud Thame, and their cousin Will Rumsby.
