Research Notes:
source: Alex & Robyn Leeflang who writes: Now to Uncle Claude. He was also younger than my father. There was Belle, Marjorie Mary, Hilton William, Thomas, Claude and then Gordon. Uncle Claude was also in the bank - ANZ I think. He became a bank manager. He married and had two children, Claudia (who is the same age as me) and Geoffrey. Claudia was a triple-certificated nursing sister who never married. I don't know what Geoffrey was but I do know he married and has a family. I am not in contact with them at all. The last time I saw Claudia was when we were both very young and I last saw Geoffrey at my Aunt Marjorie's solicitors's office when we fronted there as joint executors, together with Uncle Claude, of Aunt Marjorie's estate. She never married. I believe Uncle Claude was never one for messing about in the bush in Barraba as a boy but rather liked to keep his head in a book!. Both he and my father were good-looking men also. After his first wife died, he remarried but that is all I know. You have to understand that the Thame family were a strange lot, in that there was no socialising with any of us - they all kept to themselves. My father was very close to his sister, Marjorie Mary, and visited her often but she was also a woman who kept herself to herself. She was ill a lot of the time. When I was 18, she contracted tuberculosis and I was given strict instructions to stay away from her. She was nursed at home with a nurse in attendance. Her cousin, Will Rumsby, lived in the house with her and took care of her. She always had a cough. My deceased sister, Janet, was also "chesty", having to spend 6 months as a little girl in bed with severe bronchitis. She went on to have half of one lung removed because of bronchiectasis.
Claude married Muriel Harper. (Muriel Harper was born circa 1910.)
