  Research Notes:

source:Alex & Robyn Leeflang who writes:
Gordon John Thame was my father's youngest brother, therefore my uncle but I don't remember him. He was, apparently, a very fun-loving man and loved nothing better than to skylark around with my two sisters. He was a teller in a bank in the Haymarket in Sydney and was very popular with the Chinese community there. They all used to ask for Mr Thame!. My father told me that,at Christmas time, Gordon would be swamped with gifts from the Chinese people. He was a very handsome man, a bit like the actor David Niven. He had black hair, I think, very brown eyes and wore a moustache, although I have a picture of him in his service uniform where he does not have a moustache. He was a very good sportsman. He played tennis well and was a very good batsman for the Gordon Club in Sydney. My father told me that he used to bowl to Gordon but could never get him out! He liked to play cards but was a bad loser !. As I said previously, he married the very
lovely Muriel Harper - he met her on Chatswood station. The last time I saw Auntie Muriel I was about 16 - I can still remember what she was
wearing. It was a red dress with white spots and her blonde hair was piled up smoothly on her head. I thought she was absolutely gorgeous. She married again after Uncle Gordon's death and they had one daughter, Judith. Apparently Gordon was a skinny little boy and acquired the nickname of "Sparrow". He looked to my father, Hilton, when they were growing up.
