Noted events in his life were:

• source. Rita Dowdall who writes:
[grayfamilytree.FTW] [learmouth.FTW] Andrew was not baptized until his marriage according to Jean. I have now found out different. Jean herself was a member of the local church and Parish at Bothkennar, Still standing and in use. Before the marriage at Airth Castle Parish Church, a ruin but still can be seen next to the Hotel, the bands were read at both Church and Andrew was baptized at Bothkennar. What I am sure about is that Andrew was baptized before the marriage at his birth, but due to loss of contact he was not sure. I must also admit his parents only had one child Andrew. I feel his father was married again after I assume the death of Andrew mother. At this time in history everyone was baptized even though it cost a great deal, not to be was to hold oneself up to abuse and public shunning. The same can be said for children out with wedlock. I feel Andrew was brought up by his father or grandparents and could answer his movement to find his fortune. I find it funny that Andrew ended farming and gardening on land once owned by Elphinstones who as late as 1700 had connections with Learmonth of Fife through a will of Sir John Learmonth of Balcomie. The Rae have burial plots up in the church grounds at Airth castle, can be still seen. I have no proof that Andrew or his wife were buried their. All I do know was that Andrew was employed on one of the local estates of the Castle or Dunmore as a gardener/small farmer, all the Learmonth family traced to Polmont and Muiravonside were farmers. His second wife family shows up in Dunmore Village 1841. The family seem to have some sort of split for Andrew to leave the area most congested with Learmonth at this time round the West Lothian and Falkirk areas. What I can say is that Andrew family seem to have married in to the Hardie family again, this seems to be a farming family often married into the Bo,ness area. Another family farming link is the Boag/Gray family from Polmont/Muiravonside area. I do feel that Andrew was from the Boness/Linlithgow area as proven by birth records, as for parents I went with the ones I listed due to the closeness of the family names and the dates looked for. His father was Andrew if we conclude from his naming list and his mother from the second union. I must admit the William and Agnes aside the others seem to follow especially the first two to paternal and maternal grandfathers. I for piece of mind removed the children William and Agnes though their data can be found in this software. I have listed the parents I think they belong, its Peter Learmonth and Hardie link yet again. The Canadian researcher got this one wrong as far as I can see. As for the second family I linked these to Andrew senior due to the death certificate from his son Alexander buried in Falkirk. He listed his father as a gardiner and deceased. The Andrew junior seemed to have led a sailors life which is not surprising as Airth was on the river side at this time and not land locked as it is at present. Airth itself like Clackmannan where Andrew junior based his family was a sea faring village. All along the Forth the villages had boats going to the continent and trading and sharing the costs and profits amongst the village people. The only question is Andrew Junior turning up in the 1841 census for Dunmore with his step sisters. Why? I did find that Andrew did hire the Mort cloth for burial of some of his offspring in Airth Parish for the second family. Please see the photos of the Old and New Parish Churches of Airth. The burial grounds in the Old Parish contain Rae family members along with Andrew, where is still the question. I did check Dunmore Parish Church graveyard, but no burial I could identify as Learmonth. I have Andrew watch dated 1829 circa and made in Chester. This was handed down through the sons with the end tale it was to be handed to John's. The watch is white faced Kay's clima with second hand and face. It is silver and hallmarked accordingly. It is linked to silver chain with jewel and is in full working order.
