<u>Note</u> : There was <u>another</u> Philip Waldock, age 45, living in Back Street, Ashwell, with his wife, Ann, age 40, and six children -- Rachel (15), John (14), Elizabeth (12), James (8), David (5) and Lydia (3).

Elizabeth Waldock, age 12, was the mother of Miriam Pope # 17546, wife of Samuel Gentle # 17542, son of Thomas Gentle and Caroline Clements ; after Caroline's death, Thomas married Fanny Lee, widow of Josiah Waldock # 17547, son of Philip Waldock and Ann Gentle or Warner.

Ann, age 14, may be the daughter of the couple in the above entry but I was unable to find a b/chr. entry for her so she is not entered as their child.

Harriet married William Covington on 1 Aug 1847 in Ashwell, Hertfordshire England. (William Covington was born on 6 Jan 1829 in Ashwell, Hertfordshire England, christened on 30 Mar 1834 in Ashwell, Hertfordshire England and died on 1 Aug 1906 in Edmonton District, London, Middlesex England.)

  Marriage Notes:

a). There is a marriage entry in the IGI for Harriet Waldock and William Covington on August 1, 1847 in Ashwell, Hertford ; the entry states that she was the daughter of Philip Waldock, and he was the son of George Covington.

b). I received a Covington History Generations Report from Martin Covington (UK) on August 18, 2003 which contained the following information :

William Covington, b. January 6, 1829 at Ashwell, chr. there March 30, 1834, died August 1, 1906 at Edmonton aged 77 father George Covington mother Chiffins
