Obituary
MR C. J. KUBLER
KALBAR, June 1. - The death of Mr. Charles John Kubler recently at his home at Kent's Lagoon, came unexpectedly.
Born at Walloon, near Ipswich, 83 years ago, he came to the Fassifern district at the age of seven with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs.
George Kubler.
The journey took three days to complete as the family had to walk beside their only dray which was used to carry their utensils.
He lived with his parents at Fassifern for some years.
Later he married Miss Annie Holdorf, of Milford, and they moved on to a selection at Moogerah.
His wife and a child died there leaving him with a family of five.
Later he married Miss Eunice Titmarsh, of Munbilla, and they bought a block of land at Carrington, Kent's Lagoon, where he lived to the time of his death.
The late Mr. Kubler was one of the foundation members of the Salvation Army formed at Engelsburg, and joined that church 64 years ago.
In his younger days he was the colour sergeant and for almost 20 years carried the flag.
He was a devout member of his church and during the last few years of his life when he was unable to attend Salvation Army meetings, the service was conducted once a month in his home by the officer in charge of the local Salvation Army Corps.

Besides his widow, he leaves a family of five sons, Messrs. David,
Clifford (Boonah), Herbert, Roy, and Victor Kubler (Kalbar), and
three daughters, Mesdames G. White, G. Roberts (Brisbane) and T.
Liptrott (Sydney).
There are also 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The funeral cortege, led by the Salvation Army Band moved from the Salvation Army Hall to the General Cemetery.
Services at the hall and the graveside were conducted by Senior Captain George, assisted by Rev. F. Buchholz.
