David and Herbert stayed with their father after their mother's death, the others being reared by their grandmother Holdorf who later became Mrs F. Lorenzen. David and Herbert walked to Charwood School for their education. Charles was a Trustee of the Methodist Church when it commenced at Charlewood.

Annie married Charles John Kubler, son of George Michael Kubler Jnr and Louisa Johanna Streiner, on 13 Jan 1892. (Charles John Kubler was born on 15 Feb 1870 in Walloon, Ipswich City, Queensland Australia, died on 17 May 1953 in Kalbar, Queensland Australia and was buried in Kalbar Cemetery, Queensland Australia.)
