  Research Notes:

Helen Sasia notes:
Robert was the second son for Edwin Herbert & Emma, who went with them to Mexico arriving there about 1902 and later still he emigrated from Mexico to New York. He went back to the UK in 1918 to enlist and then stayed on for about a year after the Great War ended. On his return to the US he was able 7
to pursue his connections with the oil industry and obtained a position working for a British owned company, Armerada Petroleum Co., in New York City where he remained for the rest of his life rising to become company secretary. He appears to have had three wives the first of which was Elsa Bowen Pascal but the marriage only lasted a short time. Constance Marion Rahe was his second wife , married in 1926,who gave him a son they called Robert. Constance died in 1938.
Robert then married for a third time in 1941 to Vera Leonora Stein, an opera singer who had just returned from studying at the Milan Conservatory and she bore him a further two children, Alfred and Mary. (Mary has contacted me via Ancestry) Robert himself died of cancer in 1949.
