This suggests that GJF's registered name at birth is Jacob Vivian!! from SMH - 2 July 1863 "On 1st July 1863, before Mr Justice Wise - 'Robbery with arms' - "William Webb, James Forrester, Henry Hare and Thomas Berryman, who on the 30th instant, pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with arms, were brought up for sentence. The prisoner Webb stated that it was his first offence, and that he had been drawn into the affair through domestic misery and straitened circumstances. His honour proceeded to pass sentence, commenting strongly upon the disgracful prevelence of crimes of this description, The sentence of the court on Webb and Berryman was fifteen years hard labour in irons; and on Forrester and on Hare- the younger of the four prisoners - imprisonment for seven years, to be kept to hard labour on the roads of the colony."
