Mary Josephine Maley

• fact. Mary was the eldest child of Patrick & Bridget Maley & often spoke about missing school because she was needed at home to get meals for shearers & having to work on the farm. Mary & Frank had a bad time during the depression frank being given only a couple of days work a week on railways, but the family at Browns Creek often sent vegetables & such to them. Frank being a driver stopped at Blayney on many of his runs. Mary often told of the teasing the boys gave her, often after she had baked, the boys locked her out of the kitchen & raided the goodies she had cooked. Perce often being the ring leader in this escapade. Mary loved travelling often going by train to visit friends & relatives over NSW, but enjoyed car travel, especially a day in the bush, where she would forage for plants & especially ferns, Mary enjoyed her garden & loved growing things. In later years Mary wasn't well & it was after her death on 28.11.1957, that they found that she had only one kidney functioning for many years. Mary told of being very ill when she was about 16 yrs old & thought it was RHEUMATIC FEVER she had, this is probably when the one kidney stopped working. Frank seemed to lose interest in most things after Mary's Death missing her badly & eventually followed her in 1963. Mary died from 1. (a) chronic renal failure, (b) acute diffuse glomerulo nephritis, (2) supperative bronchopneumonia. 1.a 1 month. b.2 days

Mary married Francis Patrick (Frank) Moloney, son of Thomas Moloney and Priscilla Clara Newman, on 2 Jan 1919. (Francis Patrick (Frank) Moloney was born on 12 Sep 1890 in Blayney, NSW Australia and died on 2 Jan 1919 in 22 Broughton St, Concord, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
