[ESRO/Par.461/38/1] 1841 CENSUS: Living at Middle Broyle Farm, Ringmer, Sussex, age 35, farmer. NEWSPAPER: The 17 February 1844 edition of the Sussex Agricultural Express carried an advertisement reporting that Mr Charles Saxby of the Broyle , Ringmer w as removing to another part of the country from where it woul d be inconvenient to supply the London market and was therefore selling his celebrated stock of fancy tame rabbits, about 500 including some very large ones, together with all the capital hutches . DIRECTORY: 1851 Post Office Directory for Sussex lists Charles Saxby, farmer , at West Dean. 1851 CENSUS: Living at West Dean, head, married, age 44, occupation farmer of 1,000 acres employing 25 men and birthplace West Dean.
