  General Notes:

The Lancefield Mercury. 22 November 1962.
Mrs. Helen Derrick.
The death of Mrs. Helen Derrick, which occurred at her home in High Street, Lancefield, on Tuesday, 13th November, removed one of the districts oldest residents.
The deceased lady was one of fourteen children of the late Harry and Janet Hiscock (of whom two brothers and one sister survive). She was born at Pyalong in 1876 and spent her early years in helping her parents in their farming activities in various parts of Victoria before coming with them to Lancefield in 1910.
In 1913 she married Sydney Thomas Derrick, who predeceased her 16 years ago. Her main interests were centred in her home, her Church and her garden, and her many acts of kindness will be long remembered by those who knew her.
Two daughters, Jean (Mrs. R. Green) and Mary (Mrs. T. Hogg) and their families are left to mourn their loss.
The funeral from Christ Church of England to the Lancefield cemetery on Wednesday, 14th November, was attended by many relatives and friends, and there were many beautiful floral tributes.
The coffin bearers were Messrs T. Hogg, R. A. Green, W. Ferguson and J. Hiscock, and the pall was supported by Messrs. A. H. Cumming, G. Hiscock, L. Green, R. Cargeeg, W. Coate, N. Hemphill, A. Manly and V. McEachern.
The services at the Church and the graveside were conducted by the Rev. A. Grimshaw, and funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. A. Skehan.
