MISS MARY DERRICK
Miss Mary Derrick, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs S. T. Derrick, left Lancefield yesterday to travel to Brisbane, where she will be married on Saturday.
On Monday afternoon, several lady members of the Lancefield Golf Club called at the young lady's residence, where Mrs Alex Johnston, on behalf of the Golf Club, presented her with a set of carvers and a bread knife, in recognition of her association with the Club, and wished her every happiness in the future.
Miss Derrick modestly responded, and thanked all concerned for their kind thoughts and good wishes.
Later in the day members of the committee of the Lancefield Tennis Club also paid a visit, when Mr W. D. Tinney expressed the Club's appreciation of Miss Mary as a member and player, and their best wishes for her future happiness. As an expression of their good wishes, Mr Tinney then presented her with a travelling rug.
Miss Derrick suitably responded.
Mary married T. Hogg on 3 Aug 1940 in Queensland Australia. (T. Hogg was born circa 1915.)
