The death of Mrs Ann Stribbles, wife of Mr. William Stribbles, which occurred suddenly at their home in Raglan street, Lancefield, early on Saturday morning, 24th March, came as a great shock to her husband, family relatives and friends.
The late Mrs. Stibbles, was the younger daughter of the late Matthew and Joanna Burns, of Lancefield, and the youngest of a family of four. She was born in Lancefield, and lived there all her life. In 1912 she was married to Mr. William Michael Stribbles. He and their two sons, Robert William (Kyneton) and John, and her sister, Mrs Henderson, remain to mourn their loss.
The deceased lady led a quiet, home-loving life, and was greatly liked for her cheerful and kindly nature and her readiness, at all times to help others, especially in cases of sickness, when it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. Her own health was not good during the last four years, but she was cheerful and uncomplaining to the end, which, however, came with unexpected suddeness.
There was a large attendance at the funeral to Lancefield cemetery on Sunday afternoon, and there were many beautiful floral tributes.
Coffin-bearers were Messrs. Robert and John Stribbles (sons), W. G. Mustey and Greg. Brown. Pall-bearers were Messrs J. and W. Halpin, W. Slattery, W. Walker, John Tully, J. Hemphill, H. P. Meyer and A. Burton. Flower-bearers, Messrs. P. Linehan, sen., P. Linehan, jun., P. Reilly, M. Bennett and W. Chrisholm.
The burial service was conductged by the Rev. R. J. McCall.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. W. A. Gallpen.

Anna married William Michael Stribbles in 1913 in Victoria Australia. (William Michael Stribbles was born about 1877, died on 17 Aug 1960 in Kyneton, Victoria Australia and was buried on 19 Aug 1960 in Lancefield Cemetery, Victoria Australia.)
