Worked as a mail contractor in 1908-1911 at Mangalore, Victoria. Kilmore Free Press, Thursday May 16 1946:- The death of Mrs. Margaret Dixon at the Seymour Hospital on May 1 severed another link with the old pioneers. The third daughter of the late William and Margaret Craig of Scotland, she was born at Newham, Victoria, in 1860 and married Simon Dixon in 1887, when the couple moved to Avenel and lived there until her husband's death in 1934, when she went to Seymour to reside. The late Mrs Dixon was a great worker for the Presbyterian Church, Hospitals etc. Four sons Chris (N.S.W.), Willie (Qld), Charles (Seymour) Thomas (Qld), and a sister, Janet Craig , are left to mourn their loss, also 12 grand-children, and one great grand-child. The funeral took place at the Avenel Cemetery on May 3 and was largely attended, Rev. Mr. Northy officiating at the graveside. The casket bearers being, Messrs. Charles and Christopher Dixon (sons), George and James Dixon (grandsons); pall-bearers being Messrs W. Ewing, E. Whitechurch, D. Fontana, E. Skelton, N. Vearing, G. Morrison, T. Stewart and J. Carter. Flower-bearers, Messrs W. Osborne, J. Johnson, H. Russel, F. Vearing, J. Gadd, W. Sloper, G. Hare, H. Whiteman, G. Ewing, S. Underwood. Funeral arrangements being carried out by B. A. Skehan, of Kilmore.
Margaret married Simon Dixon, son of Christopher Dixon and Jane (Jeanie) Armstrong, in 1889 in Victoria Australia.
