To the O/C 1916 Records,
Dear Sir,
I called at the Albert Park Barracks today to see if I could get a duplicate of my discharge from the A.I.F. 1916, as I have evidently lost the one issued to me. I also had a Services Rendered Medal which cannot be found.
As I have to produce some evidence to my employer at the factory to receive Anzac Day payment granted to ex-service men, I would be grateful if you can help me.
I joined the A.I.F. early in 1916 and was transferred almost immediately to the “Permanent Guard” at the Domain Camp Melb. under the Command of Captain Condor. I was discharged about or on Oct 20th 1916 as my Father had been killed in his business and I was sent home to keep things going for my Mother and young family.
The Sergeant at Albert Park addressed the envelope for me and said I would hear from you soon. Thanking you I am
Yours truly
