The Lancefield Mercury, June 8, 1917.
MRS CHAS MUSTEY. On Tuesday afternoon last the death occurred at her residence, "Netherby," Lancefield, of Mrs. Chas Mustey, who had been ailing for some considerable time. Mrs. Mustey was one of the oldest residents of the district.
She married in 1861 - her husband passing away in December of 1915 - and in the early days of her residence here she lived at North Lancefield, where her husband carried on a butchering business.
She was a daughter of the late Mr. Dixon, who many years ago resided at Melbourne Hill on the farm at present occupied by Mr. Robt. Kirkwood.
Mrs Hiscock, of this town, is a sister of the deceased lady. It is particularly interesting to note that Mrs Mustey was a granddaughter of the late Lady Janet Grame, of "Netherby Hall," Scotland, and a direct descendant of the late Duke of Buccleuch. She was born in Scotland, and at the time of her death was 77 years of age.
Mrs Mustey leaves a large family, who, we may add, are deeply indebted to Nurse Smith for her untiring devotion and attention to their mother during the concluding twelve months of her illness. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the burial service being read by Major R.E. Big, Mr C.J. Williams having charge of the funeral arrangements.
