The tombstone gives her date of death as October 5, 1865, but her husband, Johann Georg Faehnlein, remarried on 26 September 1865 to Margaretta Wenzell. Assuming the day and month are correct then the year she died is probably 1864.

• Baptism: Unternzenn, Mittelfranken, Bayern, Abt 28 Jan 1833.

• emigrated.

Elisabetha married Johann Georg Faehnlein, son of Johann Georg Fähnlein and Anna Magdalena Zwirner, on 19 Dec 1855 in St John Lutheran Church, Amelith, Kochville Township, Saginaw County, Michigan USA. (Johann Georg Faehnlein was born on 24 Oct 1828 in Ohrenbach, Mittelfranken, Bayern Germany, died on 27 Jun 1868 in Alexandria, Alexandria County, Virginia USA and was buried in Alexandria, Alexandria County, Virginia USA.)

  Marriage Notes:

While both Johann Georg Faehnlein and Elisabeth Barbara Goess traveled on the same ship to New York, and were the only two passengers going to Michigan, the chances they were not man and wife until after they arrived in Michigan. Their first know son, John Fahnline, was born 24 June 1858.
