FRED W. MEINEL
Fred W. Meinel, 76, 425 N. Main street, Jefferson died at the Jefferson County Hospital at 6 Friday morning, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:15 at St. John;s Lutheran church, the Rev. R. W. Mueller, officiating. burial was in the Union cemetery.
Mr. Meinel was born in the town of Aztalam on February 18, 1888 and married Hilda Beckmann on June 17, 1944. He was employed by the Home Lumber company for a period of twenty years and then by the Adler Brothers and later by the Ladish Malt plant prior to his retirement in 1860.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Kathleen and Frederick at home and two brothers, Wm. Meinel, Sr. and George Meinel, Sr. both of Jefferson.
The Minshall funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Meinel - Goes
Miss Clara Goes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Goes of this city and Mr. Fred W. Meinel, son of Mrs. H. Meinel, were united in marriage at the Lutheran parsonage last Thursday afternoon, May 24th, at four o'clock. the Rev. H. K. Moussa performed the ceremony. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Moldenhauer of Marshall, Wis.
The bride was attired in a fawn colored suit with hat to match and wore a corsage of pink sweet peas.
At five o'clock a four course dinner was served to the immediate relatives. The table decorations were plink and white.
Both young people are well known throughout Jefferson County. the bride is a highly accomplished and very popular young lady. He admirable character and her pleasing disposition has won for her many friends. Since her graduation from the Jefferson High School she has been a very successful teacher in the Jefferson and Sauk county schools.
The groom is a splendid young man holding a good position with the Home Lumber Co.
Mr. ana Mrs. Fred Meinel will reside at 1315 North Main St., which property the groom has recently purchased.
