Henry Meinel, whose demise we mentioned in our last issue, was born in the Town of Aztalan on April 7, 1862 and was therefore not quite 50 years old at the time of his death. He lived all his life in Aztalan, first on his father's homestead, the last eleven years on his own farm. In 1887 he married Miss Margaret Mueller, also of Azatalan; their union was blessed by three sons, Fred, William, and George, one of whom lives in Milwaukee, the others at Aztalan. Besides the widow and sons there are left surviving him three sisters, Mrs. Adolf Springer of Waterloo, Mrs. Fred Miller of Jefferson and Mrs. Ed Biedermann of Town Jefferson.
The funeral took place from his residence to St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. H. K. Moussa officiating; interment in Union cemetery. Messrs. Wm. Frank, Adam Seifert, Geo. Bauer, Wm. Ratz and Henry Riesz were the pallbearers.
Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral, were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Springer, Mrs. Ida Springer and daughter, Mrs. Mary Nelson, all of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. George Dinkel, of Beaver Dam; Mrs. Arthur Miller of Milwaukee and Wm. Springer of Portland.
