Charles Jnr (Born 1st July, 1896) went to the First World War as an engineer with the AIF, to France. He later worked on ships and finally as manager of the Howard Electricity Power Plant. He married Elizabeth Ann (Bessie) Millin. He died at the age of 96 in 13th September, 1992. Charles Jnr (our Great Uncle Charlie) promised his mother he would not drink or smoke when he went to war. He kept the promise all his life. He also said that when he was on leave from France in London a beautiful lady offered him a red poppy. They were being sold to raise money for the soldiers. He said he had no money because his pay from Australia had been delayed, whereapon she gave him the poppy. He later found out it was the Queen Mother - Queen Alexandria, who was the beautiful Danish Princess married to King Edward VII. They had one daughter Vivienne, who married Peter Campbell.


Charles married Elizabeth Ann Millin in 1922 in Queensland Australia. (Elizabeth Ann Millin was born in 1885 in Queensland Australia.)
