Granny Cheetham had a very hard life as she had to sew sugar bags to support the family and do washing for Doctors in the town. She was the local midwife and she was also called upon to lay out the dead. She sewed wounds and even set broken bones. People could not afford Doctors. She was a strong woman who never complained and was always ready to help others. She died at the age of 85.
