Russell Kirkby Pollard

  General Notes:

Russell lived with his great grandparents, George and Ada Seymour, at Wantabadgery Station where he was also schoolled, for the most part of his school days.

WWII service Aust Army NX71301 enlisted 17 March 1941 at Paddington NSW (living at Sydney) discharged 13 Nov 1945 as private 2/2 Australian Infantry Battalion. He served in North Africa as a cook where he got an infection in an eye which eventually led to him losing that eye and in last years of his life lost sight (suspect through the bug that caused to lose other eye).

Russell and his wife Jossie lived most of their lives in Doyle Road, Revesby where he enjoyed the garden and was an early, if not foundation member of the Revesby Workers' Club which started out in a tin shed across the road from the club's current site.

Russell married Josephine Imelda Kennedy in 1943 in Redfern, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Josephine Imelda Kennedy was born about 1914, died on 8 Oct 2003 in Hospital and was buried on 13 Oct 2003 in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden Valley Way, Leppington, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
