Honora Maloney was born on July 24, 1856 in Oakfield, Leadville. She was the daughter of Michael Maloney a farmer and Mary nee Moloney who were born and married in 1850 in Newmarket on Fergus, Ireland. They arrived in the colony around 1851. Honora gave birth to fourteen children, six of whom died as infants. She died in Coolah in 1929.

Honora married Francis Joseph Devoy, son of James Devoy and Mary Colleton, on 9 Feb 1875 in Mudgee Catholic Church, NSW Australia. (Francis Joseph Devoy was born on 15 Jul 1847 in Merotherie, Leadville, NSW Australia, died on 28 Oct 1931 in Gulgong, NSW Australia and was buried on 29 Oct 1931 in Gulgong, NSW Australia.)
