James Black
Noted events in his life were: • fact. The Black's lived in a simple farm house at West Linnbank Farm in Strathaven, Scotland, where six children were born to them. Both mother and father died after only 14 years of marriage just a few months apart, leaving the children orphaned and in the care of other family members. Four emigrated to Ohio, one to Canada, and one remained in Scotland.
