John Joseph Michael Keighran

  General Notes:

Father was John Keighran. He owned a flour mill at Campbelltown, NSW in the early 1800's which has since been pulled down and the stone from it was used to build the chapel at the Military Training Camp at Milperra.
Married Elizabeth Green.
John Joseph Keighran and Eliza Green had 11 children, 6 boys & 5 girls.
Lived in " Glenaloon" which is (was?) next to the Soldier's Club at Campbelltown. Glendaloon has been taken over by the Historical Society.
Also had a farm at Appin which is also in the hands of the Historical Society.
There is a Keighran vault at Campbelltown.

There is a plaque in Jindera near Albury showing John Joseph Keighran owning the bakery at Jindera until 1890. He is buried in the Jindera cemetery

John married Elizabeth Jane (Eliza) Greene, daughter of George Henry Greene and Eliza Ellen (Roseanna) McGill, on 21 Nov 1866 in Dights Forest (now Jindera), NSW Australia. (Elizabeth Jane (Eliza) Greene was born on 20 Aug 1847 in Augustown, 15kms from Nagambi, South Australia, died on 5 Oct 1922 in Jindera, near Albury, NSW Australia ¹¹ and was buried on 7 Oct 1922 in Jindera, near Albury, NSW Australia.). The cause of her death was pneumonia bronchial.
