• Obituary. Obituary of Eliza Greene from the Catholic Press 1922. Mrs. Eliza Keighran, widow of the late Mr. J. J. Keighran, passed peacefully away at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Geo. Greene (Jindera), on the 5th inst. Mrs. Keighran was born at Augus town, South Australia, 75 years ago, and until a few days before her death had enjoyed good health. From the beginning of her illness very little hope was held out for her recovery, and all her relatives were summoned, and were present when death took place. Mr. and Mrs. Keighran wore married at Dight's Forest in 1866, and had resided in the Jindera district from that time. The deceased lady was closely identified with every charitable movement in the district, and by her kind and generous disposition had made for herself a large circle of friends. She was one of the organisers of the first ball in aid of St. John's Orphanage at Thurgoona, and had been interested in this entertain ment each year since. A large family of five sons and five daughters, viz., John (Holbrook), George (Canowindra), Charles (Albury), Joe (Goulburn), Sydney (Jindera) Barney ('Billabong Creek). Mrs. Frauenfelder (Sydney) Mrs. Brown (Morven), and Mrs. J. Costigan (Alburv), are left to mourn their loss. Her husband predeceased her bv five months. There are also over 50 grand children and one great grandchild. A large number of friends attended the funeral, which took place at tho. Jindera Cemeterv. Her six sons were pall-bearers, and the Rev Father Condon officiated at the grave. The Catholic Press (NSW : 1895 - 1942) Thursday 19th October 1922
