PAYNE Charles (George, Charles, George, Joel) was born in 1874 in Alexandr a, Victoria, Australia. Charles was a quiet, deeply religious man of ve ry tall stature. He did not have any children. Charles farmed mostly in t he Goulburn Valley, he and his wife took COOPER Charles in after the dea th of his parents, and reared him. Charles and Ada were strict disciplinar ians and according to Charlie they were extremely harsh to him. Charlie w as left a sizeable legacy. Charles died in 1942 in Tatura, Victoria, Austr alia, age sixty-eight.
