Priscilla was 7th child of Thomas & Priscilla Newman and was always known as Clara. Her father died when she was about 4yrs old and her mother re-married 2 years later, and she told her family that her older sister Emma looked after her, when Emma and her family came to Browns Creek to live Clara came with them, she obtained a position as a servant in the next farm to Thomas's and this is how she met her future husband. Her marriage to Thomas caused her trouble with her own family due to religious differences. This information was given by Mrs.L.Lowe. Priscilla married Thomas Moloney, son of Michael Moloney and Mary O'Neil, on 31 Dec 1878. (Thomas Moloney was born on 12 Nov 1841 in Sydney, NSW Australia and died on 29 Mar 1929 in Lydalls Plain, Brown's Creek, near Blayney, NSW Australia.) |
