I never knew Aunty Jean as she died many years before I was born. I do recall dad being very upset on her birthday and anniversary of her death. Dad did only speak of her once when he explained that Aunty Jean had an attempted abortion that went wrong and that she had developed septicemia (poisoning of the blood) and had subsequently died. In 1995 I was living in Eden and knew that Clarry O'Brien's last know address was Cooma. On a trip to Canberra we travelled through Cooma and looked up Clarry O'Brien. He was now going by the name of John O'Brien and was reluctant at first to answer to Clary, until I explained who I was. Kerry and I and our two children spent the afternoon with Clary (John) and his very sick partner in their retirement unit.
