  General Notes:

Peter Morris notes:
Born at Kogarah in 1906 Keith Morris attended the Dulwich Hill public school. As a young man he worked for Goldsborough Mort (a major wool broking firm) in an accounting/commercial capacity. This famous Australian company was the joint venture of Thomas Sutcliffe Mort who started a wool auctioning business in 1843 and Richard Goldsborough, a former wool merchant from England. The company sent the first cargo of Australian frozen meat to London in 1879.
Keith was a keen footballer and played Rugby Union for the Eastwood Young Mens' Institute Football Club and in 1927 they won the prestigious Burke Cup. On his 28th birthday (1934) he married Thelma Mabel Bellamy at the small Congregational Church at West Epping. This was an annex to the main church in Epping. Indeed, it was the first wedding in that church. The only issue of this marriage was Peter Keith Morris.
Not many years after their marriage Keith contracted tuberculosis and in an endeavour to improve his health he and Thelma moved to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains. They managed a café and confectionary shop for a few years with Keith spending quite some time in the nearby 'Boddingtons' hospital for T.B. sufferers and Thelma looking after the shop. From 1942 to 1947 they lived at 14 Bee Farm Road at Springwood. Keith also developed an osteomyelitis problem in his leg that required the fitting of a brace for extended periods. Even without the brace Keith walked with a distinct limp. For a few years at this time he worked for a produce merchant at Five Dock and only came home to Springwood on weekends. By mid 1947 he had become very sick and the family moved to 5 Ryde Street at West Epping to live with Thelma's parents. Keith finally succumbed to his illness on 25th of November, 1947 and was cremated at Northern Suburbs crematorium. Keith died intestate and probate was granted on July 20, 1950.
