Mary married Benjamin Carr, son of John Carr and Jane Robinson, on 21 Aug 1858 in Manchester Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire England. (Benjamin Carr was born in 1835, christened on 7 Jun 1835 in Manchester Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire England, died on 11 Jan 1878 in Salford, Greater Manchester, Lancashire England and was buried in Eccles New Road Cemetery, Salford, Greater Manchester, Lancashire England ⁷⁶.)

• fact. Many Catholic marriages are known to have occurred at the cathedral - from 1753 to 1837 it was compulsory for all marriages except Jewsih & Quaker to be held on the local C of E parish church, and after this many continued with this custom.

There is some evidence this may have been a 'mixed' marriage, as daughter Christiana is listed as Catholic on the ship's manifest and was not baptized at the cathedral, but her older brother John was.
