She was seventeen when she arrived in Hamley Bridge. She was employed in hoyse keeping by various farmers around Hamley Bridge, and kept house on Stockport Road for her father until he died. After this she worked for older people around the city before residing in Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. In 1999 she was living at the City Gardens Rest Home, South Terrace, Adelaide.
