Margaret Ann's family were right into teaching, her eldest brother John was the School Master at Nicholson Victoria, where Margaret taught. The school was actually a bark hut with a dirt floor, and was leased for 1 shilling per year. Her husband John Rowe was a Truant Officer, and brother William was on the local "board of advice for schools" in Bumberrah Riding. The only family portrait I have is that of Margaret's sister, my great grandmother Ellen Richardson nee Vipond.

Mary married James Vipond, son of John Vipond and Eleanor (Ellen) Moffat, on 17 Jul 1854 in Alston, Cumberland England. (James Vipond was born on 15 Nov 1830 in Alston, Cumberland England and died in 1892 in Swan Reach, Victoria Australia.)
