Margaret Ann's family were right into teaching, her eldest brother John was the School Master at Nicholson Victoria, where Margaret taught. The school was actually a bark hut with a dirt floor, and was leased for 1 shilling per year. Her husband John Rowe was a Truant Officer, and brother William was on the local "board of advice for schools" in Bumberrah Riding. The only family portrait I have is that of Margaret's sister, my great grandmother Ellen Richardson nee Vipond.
