Note Ellen and John were married at Trinity Church of England, Pentridge, Victoria - now called Campberfield.

The death was announced last week of the worthy pioneer resident of Glenaroua, Mr. John James Walter, which sad event occurred on the 8th June. At the time, and for some time previous, his good wife Mrs. Helen, had been in poor health and the death of Mr. Walter may in some degree hastened her death which took place on Thursday night, the 10th instant. A good wife and husband who spent many years of loyal and affectionate partnership in this life now re-united. Mrs. Walter who had been in delicate health for some time, was a native of Dorsetshire, England, and a sister of Mr. Thomas Hiscock, of Willowmarvin. The remains of the deceased lady were interred in the Pyalong Cemetery on Saturday. Mr. James Beegan having charge of the mortuary arrangements.

Ellen married John James Walter, son of John Walter and Mary Ann Burnett, on 1 Oct 1857 in Trinity C of E, Pentridge, Victoria, Australia. (John James Walter was born on 3 Apr 1831 in St Pancras, Camden Town, London, Middlesex England, died on 8 Jun 1920 in Kilmore, Victoria Australia and was buried on 9 Jun 1920 in Pyalong Cemetery, Victoria Australia.)
