Victor served in the First World War. (A.I.F. Badge 3863 Gunner V.H. Hiscock). He inhaled gas which injured his lungs and affected his health later in life.
He worked with his brother Frank planting potatoes at Loch.
In 1922 Victor married Lillian King and they had four children. He worked on external installations for the P.M.G.

Victor Herbert Hiscock enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 3/7/1915. His certificate of medical examination shows that he was aged 24 years and two months, height - 5 feet 6 inches, weight 10 stone 12 pounds, chest measurement 34/36 and a half inches. complexion - fresh, eyes - blue, hair - brown, religious denomination - Church of England.
Victor served mainly in France and was burnt by gas and hospitalised. he was also in hospital for 17 days with syphilis. He disembarked on 20/8/1919 and was discharged on 12/10/1919.
