THROWN FROM SIDECAR.
Finding of Accidental Death.
When he swerved the motor-cycle and sidecar which he was riding to pass a motor-car in Balwyn road, Balwyn, on July 22, Horace Oswald Johnson, carpenter, of Allambee road, East Camberwell, lost control of the machine, which crashed into a fence and then stuck a tree. Johnson's mother-in-law, Eva May McFeeters, aged 48 years, of Clifton street, Richmond, who was in the sidecar, was thrown out, and
received fatal injuries. The city coroner (Mr. D. Berriman, P.M.) held an inquest on Tuesday.
.Johnson, in a statement to the police, said: -As I came up behind the motor-car in Balwyn road I sounded the horn of my motor-cycle, and the car drew over to the left. I then began to pass. The motor-car, however, swerved back to the centre of the road, forcing me on to the incorrect
side, which was very rough. I lost control of the motor-cycle, which ran down an embankment.
The Coroner-I suggest that you give up riding a motor-cycle and try a wheel- barrow, you could not do much damage with that. I find that Mrs. McFeeters death was accidental.
