! William Parker McKie enlisted in the Army at Tullamore NSW on 30-May-1940. He served a total of 1987 days which included 753 days abroad. He served in the Middle East from 30-sep-1940 to 31-mar-1942 and Nth Borneo from 10-Mar-1945 to 30-sep-1945. Bill was discharged from AIF on 06-nov-1945. The people of Tullamore gave William a Plaque in appreciation of his service after the war.
!Bill or 'Jock' as he was known and his wife Rosabell Mary separated about 1956. They were living in Euabalong West at the time, which is on the Parkes to Broken Hill railway line.
He made his Will in Condobolin NSW on 28th May 1981.
Williams second name of Parker was carried down from his Grandmothers name of Parker.
