SMYTHESDALE MAN KILLED
A 44 year old man, Allan Gordon Coon, was killed when he was struck by a car on the Glenelg Highway, a quarter of a mile west of Smythesdale at 5.50 p.m. yesterday. It is believed that he was walking alongside the road when the car struck him.

Allan married Phyllis Mavis Smith, daughter of James Herbert Smith and Margaret Christina Barrett. (Phyllis Mavis Smith was born about 1915, died on 26 Jan 1968 in Smythesdale, Victoria Australia and was buried on 30 Jan 1968.)
