Owing to a sudden attack of influenza which confined him to his room, the Rev. A very large number of people in Hobart will regret to hear of the death in Melbourne a few days ago of the well-known Presbyterian minister, the Rev. John Symington Buntine, who for some years had charge of Chalmers Church. He was trained at Ormond College, and was at the time of his death minister of St. George s Presbyterian Church, Collingwood. On being ordained he was appointed to Footscray, and afterwards came to Hobart. Subsequently he was at Port Melbourne. and then went to West Australia. He resigned his charge there to become chaplain of a troopship, and a few months ago took charge at St. George s, Collingwood. The deceased minister took a keen interest in social questions, and some years ago instituted midday meetings among the employees of the large firms and factories in and around Melbourne.
