Jefferson, (Special) - St. Jolhn's Lutheran Church was the scene Saturday evening of the wedding of Miss Lois E. Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Schmidt, 301 Third Street, to Lester J.. Wurtzler, son of Mrs John Wurtzler, 612 Robert Street, Fort Atkinson. The Rev. R. W. Mueller officiated at the 7 o'clock candlelight ceremony.
the bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white lace over taffeta fashioned with a square neckline and pleated satin cummerbund. the ballerina length skirt was of lace and pleated tulle. The shoulder length veil was held by a tulle and lace cap. White fugi mums and pink tea roses were in the fan shaped bouquet carried by the bride.
Mrs. Harvey Richter Jr., Twin Lakes, was matron of honor and Miss Helen Ropinski, Jefferson, bridesmaid. Both were dressed in pale rose taffeta ballerina length dresses fashioned with fitted bodices and handkerchief effect skirts. Their headdresses matched their dresses and were of narrow bands of velvet and feathers. They carried American Beauty roses.
John R. Jones, Milwaukee, was best man, Eldon Martin, Fort Atkinson, was groomsman. James Yackels and Donald Gore, both of Fort Atkinson, were ushers.
A reception attended by 150 guests was held after the ceremony in St. John's School.
A graduate of the Jefferson High School and the University of Wisconsin, the bride is employed as a caseworker of the Dodge County Welfare Department. The groom graduated from the Fort Atkinson High School and is employed as a machine designer for Norland Engineering Company, Fort Atkinson.
After Oct. 1 the newly weds will be at home a 522 1/2 North Washington Street, Watertown.
