Mrs. Emma Goes
Mrs. Emma Goes a resident of Jefferson for the past 16 years, died at her home at 1119 Wilson Street Monday afternoon as the result of a heart attack. She had been ill approximately 2 years and had reached the age of 74 years.
Emma Emeline Geise was born in Farmington on Dec. 14, 1862, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Giese. She spent the major part of her life in that sector, where on Jan. 9, 1887 she married Leonard Goes, who preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Mrs. Goes was a devout member of St. John's Lutheran Church, her religion and her homelife constituting the major elements of her life. She gained a great amount of pleasure in charitable acts for friends and relatives, of which she had a great many.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Irene Teschner, Farmington, Mrs. Ed. Biederman, Farmington, Mrs. Esther Moldenhauer, Deerfield, Mrs. Hilda Schmidt, Jefferson; two grandchildren; a brother, August Giese of Fort Atkinson, and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Hanf of Sullivan and Mrs. Martin Puerner of Jefferson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. O. Kuhlow officiating. Burial was in Union cemetery.

Emma married Leonard Goes, son of Johann Michael Göss and Anna Maria Pfeffer, on 9 Jan 1887 in Farmington, Jefferson County, Wisconsin USA. (Leonard Goes was born in Aug 1857 in Jefferson County, Wisconsin USA, died on 16 Aug 1927 and was buried in Union Cemetery, Jefferson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin USA.)
