I really never knew my mother until I was 10 years old, as she was injured badly, falling under a London bus when I was a baby. So I was sent up to Portsoy and all I knew as a child was Grandad, George Mair & I adored him, and "Aggie" who was a surrogate Mum otherwise.

Helen married George McBain, son of John Donald McBain and Agnes (Aggie) Russell, on 27 Jan 1920 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland UK. (George McBain was born on 21 Apr 1890 in Sunny Corner, Portsoy, Banffshire Scotland and died on 17 Aug 1980 in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire England.)
