  General Notes:

Calvin Warby notes:
Interred in Anglican, occupation Sheep Drover /Teamster/ Labourer. George William was a bit of a lad and had children to three different women at the same time, so to put his "wives" in order is a bit hard. His first wife was his legal wife, the others he did not marry. The son born to Mary McLeish is registered under both names, WARBY and McLEISH. Where as all the children born to Millicent ROBINSON, except for one, have not been registered under either name, but they appear as WARBY children on both death notices of George William WARBY and Millicent WARBY. From further information it appears that George went back to his legal wife, Gertrude Priestly and they produced a son Alexander in 1912. As he had left Millicent high and dry, she lived with Robert P Williams and they produced a son Claude, also in 1912. His birth is registered under WILLIAMS at Inverell NSW. George then obviously returned to Millicent at Inverell, now leaving his legal wife high and dry. George & Millicent went on to have a further four children. They obviously did not finish their lives together as George dies in Tingha (a tin mining town not far from Inverell) and Millicent dies as Millicent WARBY in the Maitland area. Oh what a tangled web we weave!

Gertrude Mary Priestley, Gertrude Mary Warby and Mary McLeish were all the same person. She was married to George William Warby and her children by him were Lindon Harley Warby, Dorothy May Warby and William Stanley Warby (also known as Stanley William McLeish). As far as I can work out, George left Mary in approximately 1906-1907 and she did not see him again.
