[grayfamilytree.FTW] [learmouth.FTW] John served his time as an apprentice Toolmaker at Carron Iron Works, Larbert. He started a coal business in Grangemouth with his step brother Archibald (Baldie).He moved to Denny and started a Fruit & Veg Van. From this he spent some time driving trucks.He then started selling second hand cars at Smith St Motors in Bainsford.He did expand to one other garage run by his son John. From Smith Street. He started in Haulage, expanding to Winchester Ind Estate, Denny growing to over 25 Lorrys + Trailers. This continued till his death with only Christopher, Joyce, Pamela, Alistair not working in the firm. Tina, Jeanette, Raymond, John and Christopher all worked in the firm at one time or another but were not at his death. The firm itself was heavily into taking loads abroad even Edward nearly staying the whole year in Spain. Edward has started his own firm with his remaining son working with him. Interred in plot No 386/3 after Cremation in Camelon Cremetorium

John married Kirkwood, daughter of Robert Fleming Kirkwood and Sarah Milton. (Kirkwood was born on 4 May 1922.)
