My Grandfather Edward J.Murray standing on the footplate of the Mt. Kembla colliery`s locomotive, 'Gladstone',as it's driver, waiting at the Kembla signals to cross the main southern line, on its way to the Pt. Kembla coal jetty , [Circa 1920's]. The consistent polishing of the engine's brass dome nearly got Grandfather before the courts, charged by a grumpy farmer that the glare from the Engine, blinded him,making him to loose control of his horse, which bolted.
