In view of the maiden names recorded on the marriage of the mother, Mary Ann to John ADAMS and daughter Mary Ann to John WRIGHT, I have concluded that William VENN and Mary Ann VENN did not marry, but had a daughter, Mary Ann VENN in 1826.
Subsequent to that event, Joseph DIX and Mary Ann VENN had at least two children, Elizabeth and Caroline, and presumably also Martha. It is possible that William and Joseph were also their children. Mary Ann and William were both christened with the name DIX on 11 January, 1829. Perhaps her christening as DIX was to reflect the family situation that existed at that time.
Mary married John Wright, son of James (William) Wright and Mary Ann Lathen, on 30 Mar 1845 in Cookham, Buckinghamshire England. (John Wright was born on 20 Feb 1825 and died in 1845.)
