If the marriage date on the IGI is correct, this couple were married ve ry late in life. Rachel Dyson had previously had at least 2 children und er her own name (no fathers name on the Baptism record), Lavinia Dyson (25 .12.1851) who is listed in the household of the Plough Inn in 1881, and Dr usilla Dyson who was baptised 28.10.1854, and married William Birdsall 24. 9.1878. This couple had at least 5 children in 1891 - Herbert Dyson Birdsa ll who is recorded at the Plough Inn aged 2 in the 1881c, and Ambrose (1 0) Dyson (7) William L (4) Charles D (2) who are recorded living with the ir parents. Their is also a George Renison Birdsall (17) listed in the Plo ugh Inn Household as an Indoor Farm Servant, and Rachel Dysons neice and n ephew (children of Mary Dyson who married Thomas Mason) are also recorde d: Arthur Dyson Mason (13) and Rebecca Dyson Mason (4).

The 1891c entry for the Plough, has Lavinia aged 38 (Dressmaker), Herbe rt Birdsall aged 12 along with his sister Louisa aged 4, Arthur Mason ag ed 23 along with his brother 26 (both AgLabs) and his sister Rebecca ag ed 14.

It is unclear whether the Dyson children are William Lawns - though Drusil la's Marriage entry lists him as her father. Accepted for the time being.
