Annie (my grandmother) asked my mom to join her on a trip to Australia to see her family. (year 1970 or 71). My mom declined as she was working fulltime. Annie died in my opinion prematurely. She fell off a stool while cleaning her windows. She badly bruised her leg but refused to see a doctor (the norm). My parents returned from a vacation in Montreal and found out about the fall. My mom suggested Annie go to the emergency room of the hospital. Annie was admitted to the hospital shortly thereafter. A couple of days later she died of a blood clot to the heart..(I doubt they had blood thinners then). On a more positive note, I often accompanied my grandmother to the grocery store as a weekly routine (when I was old enough to drive) and to go to different events where she needed a companion. Imagine a 14-16 year old and a grandmother in her late 70's moving about the city of Toronto. Not exactly cool!
My grandmother was a devout baptist. She did not believe in going to the cinema and reluctantly allowed tv to enter the home. She probably checked with the minister first. She did not drink nor smoke.

They had me - Robyn Bray (nee Davies) (1950)

Annie married Hubert Jagger on 1 Oct 1917 in St Michaels, Wood Green, Edmonton, London England. (Hubert Jagger was born in Jan 1881 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire England and died in 1971 in Toronto, Ontario, York County Canada.)
